Battle of the Year，即通常所稱的BOTY，是一個始于1990年的一年一度的全球性breaking街舞系列賽。這是一個團體（相對個人來說）賽事。地區資格賽——相當于預賽——在世界范圍內舉行，各區勝者將會參加于德國布倫瑞克的大眾汽車大廳里舉行的終極對決。Battle of the Year被認為是世界上最早的breaking賽事，也常常被當做是breaking界的世界杯。Battle of the Year創造了“底層的全球化空間，讓人們聚在一起穿越了地理，語言，競技的障礙”。Benson Lee曾拍攝過一部紀錄片《B-Boy星球》（《Planet B-Boy》），讓人們看到了參加Battle of the Year的是怎樣的一群人。“BOTY越來越國際化，這意味著它越來越受歡迎。這也令比賽地點的資格要求變高，使每年BOTY參賽團隊中出現了更多的關鍵人物。他們的目標之一就是凝聚那些有積極性的年輕人們。這是很有必要的，因為想達到所有的要求已變得越來越難。”2010年全球總決賽將在法國蒙彼利埃競技場舉行。
