經(jīng)過了無數(shù)鐵桿迷多年的要求，世嘉與Creative Assembly公司終于向玩家提供了一款有槍的《全面戰(zhàn)爭》。在德國萊比錫游戲展上，《全面戰(zhàn)爭》系列第五部作品《帝國：全面戰(zhàn)爭》終于正式公開，這將會(huì)是系列歷史上最大的進(jìn)化。首先是本作將會(huì)引入即時(shí)艦艇大戰(zhàn)，這是該系列已經(jīng)很久都沒有的內(nèi)容。其次是它將會(huì)引入大批全新技術(shù)。這款游戲?qū)?huì)發(fā)生在大航海時(shí)代，因此當(dāng)然會(huì)有槍械和火炮。

　　《帝國：全面戰(zhàn)爭》將會(huì)橫跨整個(gè)18世紀(jì)，那是現(xiàn)代世界的黎明時(shí)期，出現(xiàn)了大量的革命與戰(zhàn)爭，包括可以視之為真正的第一次世界大戰(zhàn)的七年之戰(zhàn)，因?yàn)檫@場戰(zhàn)爭幾乎席卷了全球。本作從拿破侖戰(zhàn)爭的末端開始，不過不會(huì)講述這場壯觀的戰(zhàn)爭情況，但是不難想象作為玩家期待已久的一場戰(zhàn)爭，拿破侖戰(zhàn)爭預(yù)計(jì)將會(huì)通過資料片或者講述。本作的戰(zhàn)爭將會(huì)發(fā)生在全球，包括新大陸和印度。游戲中有很多勢力，美國可能是最大也是最重要的新增勢力。與所有《全面戰(zhàn)爭》游戲一樣，本作在戰(zhàn)爭中分為了戰(zhàn)略和戰(zhàn)術(shù)兩種層面，但是最重要的新增要素是將會(huì)有巨大的艦隊(duì)的即時(shí)海戰(zhàn)。在首次演示中可以看到同時(shí)20艘船艦的壯觀海戰(zhàn)，玩家在地面戰(zhàn)斗中也差不多是可以同時(shí)指揮20個(gè)單位。但是由于船艦本身每艘都有數(shù)百人，因此戰(zhàn)斗的規(guī)模是非常恢弘的。艦船的種類很多，根據(jù)操控性、速度和火力劃分，除了大型堡壘型艦艇外，還有速度較快的護(hù)衛(wèi)艦和作戰(zhàn)艦，你可以組織大規(guī)模的海戰(zhàn)策略，包括登上敵戰(zhàn)艦。
