由Blue Byte研發的《工人物語7》在2010年3月23日發行。此次將給予玩家機會去選擇最佳的方式，帶領他們的王國邁向勝利之路，玩家將在文藝復興初期的歐洲展開一段冒險。Ubisoft表示，《工人物語7》將帶領《工人物語》系列這套經典策略游戲進入下一個境界，游戲采用的核心機制將延續此系列的成功元素并且不斷創新，讓玩家有能力去開拓他們獨特、令人激動的冒險歷程。
《工人物語7》結合了運輸、生產等內容，讓玩家透過軍事（建立強大的軍隊）、貿易（占領最佳貿易路線以取得財富）與科學（建立寺廟等組織來獲取技術）來邁向勝利之路；游戲不僅采用新的圖像引擎，并強調采用更加進化的AI，每個獨特行為都將擁有超過十多個AI 檔來運作。
Ubisoft 表示，《工人物語7》強調更為豐富的游戲玩法，更加深入的建筑與制造系統，讓玩家可以一村又一村的拓展他們的王國，并且優化他們擁有的生產鏈與運輸系統。
玩家在《工人物語7》中，根據每個人不同的玩法，將可以解開不同的內容與獨特的可能性，游戲同時帶來全新勝利點系統，讓游戲更加緊張刺激、更具競爭性；玩家在游戲中的眾多選擇，將可能在不同形式下來獲得不同勝利點，也就是說玩家所作的選擇將可能影響他們所屬王國的變化。
游戲同時提供多樣化多人游戲模式，包括遭遇戰、合作模式或是經典的對抗模式，游戲同時將提供排行榜，并將陸續釋出更多的下載游戲內容等。
《工人物語7》原聲由 Kariina Gretere, Tilman Sillescu, Jochen Flach,Alexander Roeder, Alex Pfeffer, Markus Schmidt, Marc Rosenberger, Benny Oschmann 等共同作曲。
